The Stone Crazy Blues Band, a Northwest US based blues trio, was formed in early 2004 by guitarist Chris Morda, bassist Forrest Giberson, and drummer Lorne Watson with the vision of infusing some new energy into the Northwest blues scene. The band's members all have diverse backgrounds, Chris has an Ethnomusicology Degree, Forrest has bachelor of music degree in Studio Music and Jazz with specialization in performance, music theory, music history and composition, and Lorne graduated with a Bachelors of Music Education and Percussion Performance. All three are currently private, as well as group, music instructors and have a wide range of performance experience.



The band’s material consists of classic , modern, as well as original blues. 50's and 60's tunes such as Jimmy Reed's "Baby, What You Want Me To Do, and Magic Sam's "I Just Want A Little Bit, lap slide reworkings of blues classics dating back to the 1930's such as Willie Dixons ’s “Little Red Rooster” and Blind Willie Johnson's “Motherless Children”, and funk based blues originals in tribute of Albert Collins, ala the original "The Freeze" are all regulars in the bands's repotoire. The band showcases its' diversity in originals inluenced by East Indian Music, "Introspect" and the study of "Just Intonation" and the Overtone Series on "Workin Blues" featuring "The 12 Tone Ultra Plus Guitar".
